Lore Fielding

Strictly speaking, her books are contemporary paranormal romance, although she’s kind of uncomfortable with that label because what she really wants to do is create worlds so convincing that you almost start to believe vampires exist—their blood comes from the Sweetblood truck, where every donor gets a free soft serve if they post a pic on Instagram.

Lore’s urtexts include Pride & Prejudice, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, every single thing Ali Hazelwood’s ever written, and Judith McNaught’s Kingdom of Dreams, which she stole from the back room of the Chevy Chase public library when she worked there as a book shelver. She hereby apologizes. But she’s not sorry, because she fell hard for that book, and as we all know, even the sturdiest heroines sometimes do dumb things for love.

Lore has worked as an advertising copywriter and creative director for seemingly ever. Her big job was the Apple account at Media Arts Lab, where she wrote the ads that launched iPhone and the there’s-an-app-for-that campaign. Now she freelances, which gives her time to write books.

She’s currently seeking representation for Nightship, a vampire romance set amidst the horrors of the New York ad world.

Lore lives in Los Angeles, where she lives with her cat and over the hill (down the 405) from her partner, a clown teacher and performer.

writes books with dark humor, dark nights, and colorful people.
